Sync Feature - FAQ
What is the Sync Feature?
The sync feature allows you to copy configurations between your environments:
- Staging → Production
- Production → Staging
What can I sync?
You can sync the following:
- Settings
- Standard Emails
- Display Text
Note: Syncing only applies to configuration elements. It does not affect the form, reviews, users, submissions or data.
When should I use Sync?
Use Sync when you want to:
- Move tested updates from Staging to Production
- Keep your environments consistent
- Copy your live setup into staging for testing
Will anything be overwritten?
Yes.
When you run a sync, matching items in the destination environment will be overwritten with the source version.
We recommend reviewing your changes carefully before syncing.
Is syncing automatic?
No - syncing is a manual action.
You choose when to run it, giving you full control over when changes are applied.
How long does it take?
Syncing usually takes just a few seconds, depending on the amount of content being transferred.
How do I know it worked?
Once the sync is complete:
- You'll see a confirmation message
- Your updates will appear in the destination environment
What’s the best way to use Sync?
For the best experience:
- Make and test changes in Staging first
- Review updates before syncing to Production
- Use Production → Staging to create a backup if needed
- Sync during low-activity times if making major updates
What if something doesn’t look right after syncing?
If changes don’t appear as expected:
- Double-check you selected the correct source and destination
- Confirm the correct items were included in the sync
If you’re unsure, your support team is here to help.
