Understanding Publish & Rollback
The Publish & Rollback feature allows admins to safely move changes from Staging to Production and restore previous versions when needed.
Understanding Versions
Live Version
The Live Version is the version currently being used in your Production environment.
Submitters, reviewers, references, and administrators interacting with your live program will see this version.
Draft Version
The Draft Version contains unpublished changes made in Staging.
Draft versions can be reviewed, tested, and updated until they are ready to be published.
Understanding the Publish Process
Publishing moves your Draft Version to Production and replaces the current Live Version.
When a version is published:
- Changes take effect immediately
- The previous Live Version is replaced
- All users see the updated version going forward
Publishing applies to the entire form or review, not individual questions or criteria.
Using Audit
Before publishing, you can select Audit to review the differences between the Live Version and Draft Version.
We recommend reviewing all changes using Audit before publishing to Production.
Rolling Back Changes
If a mistake is discovered after publishing, you can restore a previously published version using the Rollback tab.
Rolling back creates a new version based on the selected historical version and makes it the current Live Version.
Best Practices
Before publishing:
- Test all changes in Staging
- Verify conditional logic
- Confirm question and criteria order
- Review changes using Audit
- Ensure all updates are complete
Before rolling back:
- Review the version history carefully
- Confirm you are restoring the correct version
- Understand that newer published changes will be replaced
