Creating an Engagement

There are a few ways to create an engagement (match) between a mentor and a mentee, depending on how you want to work.

Method 1: From the Engagements Screen

  1. Navigate to the Engagements tab
  2. Click the Create Engagement button
  3. Select a mentor and mentee from the available list to create a match.

Method 2: From Signups, by impersonating a user

  1.  Navigate to the Signups tab
  2. Impersonate a user to view potential matches and match percentages
  3. If the user has available connections, click Create Engagement
  4. If the user has reached their maximum number of connections, the Create Engagement option will be unavaliable

Method 3: From the Matching Center

You can also create engagements from the Matching Center, which is useful if you want to review system-suggested matches or approve several at once instead of creating them one by one.

  1. Go to Admin Tools > Matching Center
  2. Use the Mentee / Mentor tabs and the Unmatched / Open Capacity / At Capacity filters to find who you're trying to match.
  3. From here you can either:
    • Click Suggested Matches to review the system's suggested pairings, and approve one at a time or select several and click Approve Selected.
    • Click Create Match on an individual mentor or mentee's card to see a ranked list of relevant candidates for that person and create a match with whichever one you choose.

Unlike the other two methods, the Matching Center lets you exceed a mentor or mentee's maximum number of connections if needed, they'll still show up as a candidate even if they're already at capacity.
